iTero® Digital Scanner
If you had braces as a kid, you probably remember the uncomfortable, gag-inducing trays of putty used to take impressions of your teeth. We have said goodbye to the goop!
- What it is: A small, handheld wand that takes thousands of pictures of your child's teeth in seconds to create a perfect 3D digital model.
- The Benefit: It is fast, comfortable, and allows us to show your child a 3D movie of their own mouth instantly on the screen. We use this for planning Invisalign® treatments, crowns, and appliances.
Safer & Faster Diagnostics
Digital-X-Rays
We use fully digital radiography sensors instead of traditional film.
- Low Radiation: Digital X-rays reduce radiation exposure by up to 90% compared to traditional film X-rays, making them extremely safe for children.
- Instant Images: There is no waiting for film to develop. The images appear on our screen instantly, allowing Dr. Jumani to diagnose issues like hidden cavities or bone concerns immediately.
- Eco-Friendly: No harsh chemicals are needed to process the images, which is better for our environment.
Seeing the Full Picture in 3D
Cone Beam CT (CBCT)
Sometimes, a standard 2-D X-ray doesn't tell the whole story. For complex situations, we use our in-house Cone Beam CT scanner.
- What it is: This advanced machine rotates around your child's head in less than a minute to capture a detailed, 3-dimensional view of their teeth, jawbone, nerves, and airway.
- The Benefit: It eliminates the guesswork. Dr. Jumani uses this 3D map to precisely plan orthodontic movements, locate impacted teeth (like wisdom teeth or canines stuck in the bone), and evaluate airway issues.
Gentle Surgical Care
Soft Tissue Laser
For procedures involving the gums or soft tissues, we use advanced laser technology instead of a scalpel.
- What it is: A focused beam of light energy that can precisely modify soft tissue.
- The Benefit: It is virtually painless and often requires less anesthesia. The laser cauterizes (seals) the tissue as it works, meaning there is minimal bleeding, no stitches, and a much faster recovery. We use this primarily for Frenectomies (tongue/lip tie releases) and gum contouring.
