Home / Orthodontics / Invisalign for Adults

Many adults believe that if they didn't get braces as a teenager, they missed their chance for a straight smile. Others had braces years ago but lost their retainers, watching their teeth slowly drift back out of alignment.

It is never too late. At Nurture Kids Dentistry, we see many parents and professionals who want to improve their smile but can't imagine wearing metal brackets to a board meeting or a client dinner.

Invisalign® is the answer. It is the modern, nearly invisible way to achieve the smile you’ve always wanted without disrupting your busy life.

Designed for Your Lifestyle

Invisalign was created with adults in mind.

  • Virtually Invisible: The clear aligners are so subtle that most people won't notice you are wearing them, even in face-to-face conversations.
  • Removable: You have a big presentation? A wedding to attend? A steak dinner? No problem. Simply pop the trays out for the event and put them back in when you're done.
  • Convenient: With fewer in-office check-ups than traditional braces (usually every 8-10 weeks), Invisalign respects your busy schedule.

How It Works

Using advanced 3D computer imaging technology, Dr. Jumani plans your complete treatment from the initial position to the final desired position.

  • The Scan: We capture a precise 3D image of your teeth (no gooey impressions!).
  • The Plan: You can see a virtual representation of how your teeth will move and preview your final smile before you even start.
  • The Aligners: You receive a series of custom-made clear aligners. You wear each set for about 1-2 weeks, moving your teeth little by little, week by week, until they have straightened to the final position.

Frequently Asked Questions
Expert Answers to Your Common Questions

Am I too old for orthodontics?
Absolutely not. As long as your gums and bone structure are healthy, teeth can be moved at age 60 just as easily as at age 16. We have treated many adults who are finally doing something for themselves after years of prioritizing their children.
Will it affect my speech?
For the first day or two, you might have a slight lisp as your tongue gets used to the plastic trays. This usually disappears quickly as you adjust.
How long does treatment take?
The average adult case takes about 12 months, though many simple cases (like fixing a gap or minor relapse) can be done in as little as 6 months. Complex cases may take longer. We will give you a specific timeline during your consultation.
How often do I have to wear them?
Discipline is key. You must wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day for them to be effective. If you only wear them at night, your teeth will not move, and the treatment will stall.
